Vision & Values
William MacGregor Primary School is a popular one form entry school which has been serving the local community and beyond for over 130 Years. Its history stems back to when Glascote and Bolehall had a joint school board which built a board school for boys at Glascote in 1892, Bolehall Boys School. The school was renamed in honour of William MacGregor after his death in 1937.
We have 7 classes from Reception (Ladybirds class) through to Year 6 and are proud of the daily successes of each and every one of our pupils.
Here at William MacGregor Primary School staff, children and governors work hard to achieve, are inspired by each other and other people further afield and have aspirations for their short and long term futures. Our vision, established in September 2011, encompasses this ethos.
In the summer term 2018 the governors worked together to add further detail to our vision, on the 3rd September 2018 the staff contributed their thoughts and parents and children have also worked on this detail during the first two weeks of the autumn term.
At William MacGregor our children are our best asset and are constantly striving to improve themselves. They work incredibly hard to achieve their best. Our knowledge engaged curriculum develops key skills of collaboration, independence and resilience so that the learning culture in each classroom is second to none. They are proud to attend William MacGregor.
All successful schools work in partnership with the parents and the community and we are no exception. We take seriously the views of parents and provide them with regular information about their children’s’ learning, school activities and community events.
Our values of honesty, trustworthy, hard working, kindness and caring, along with our vision, form the ethos of our school and are deeply embedded in daily practice.
